Galena via Headwall 8/17/09
It is a nice day. This is the easy way to Galena.
Beautiful Mill Creek Canyon.
There is still some water in the creek.
That rock is slippery especially with wet shoes.
Wayne made it there, now what. Retrace.
This is an easier way for Wayne to get over that waterfall.
Headwall is getting closer.
The first part up is not bad.
It is getting worse. Mark hangs ten, rather twenty.
Martha desperately charges upward.
While John is assessing his next moves hoping that rocks will not move.
John at Galena, it is our lunch and view spot.
This must be one of the biggest groups to get up here, all ten of us.
The Headwall from above.
Hmmm.
It is steep and slippery already.
Coming down the headwall and pretending to have fun.
Taking mess from our shoes and watching other group getting down that is fun.
John, Wayne are coming down.
Where are the bears? John and Martha saw Mama Bear and Baby Bear to cross in front of them. Too bad I was not there.
It is again beer/champagne after summit party time.
