Cone Peak 10/12/2020
It is a crisp morning for now. Cone Peak is right ahead.
Finally we can do some normal hike in mountains.
Even Wayne is with us!
Thomas Mountain that is across the Garner Valley.
Chuck is looking for geocache. None found in rocks.
Almost at the saddle.
Saddle break.
Chuck and John, now two geocachers.
On half burned PCT.
Green trees here.
Big San Jacinto Mountain.
Our small peak is ahead. Palm View Peak.
This is the top.
We can even see Coachella Valley down since the trees around are burned.
Our group here. John is waiting for us on 7123.
This looks devastated.
We found Hersch who found John and then us.
On a way to the ridge.
So far so good.
Not much brush yet.
There is Cone Peak. Looks rugged.
Wit is keeping with us.
Almost up.
I am on the north block that map shows as a top however the south block may be higher.
The register is under.
Larry climbed the south block.
John is in.
This register does not go too far. Starts in 2005 so we can’t verify our prior entry.
Off the summit.
Cars are down there.
The way down is spotty and sometime slippery.
Trail is ducked but it is easy to lose it.
Our complete group. We made it.
