Davies Valley 2/1/2021
John is not here, so no section markers hike today.
Our first find: motorcycle helmet.
Canyon walls are getting bigger.
Rocks are more interesting.
Some minor warmup obstacles.
We will not go hungry nor thirsty. Lot of supplies (not used) are everywhere.
Here is our first dry waterfall. How are we going to get over there? They are asking.
Fortunately we know how.
Second waterfall. This one is fun.
Find your way up.
Almost up.
More interesting rocks.
That is our next objective.
Starting up. It is easy.
Some volcanic bumps below.
Climbing gets more exciting.
Angelika likes it?! I like it.
It is somewhat challenging in places.
Final push to get up.
There is a new electronic equipment on top.
Our group up here.
Time to go down, Wit is waiting for us somewhere.
Kirk: that is where we are going next.
There are some slide rocks.
And we are down.
Walking over the dry lake.
Oh, there is a new border wall.
Some pages from the original Wes Shelberg’s register. Not too many people come here.
Davies Valley.
Complete group on Kirk.
Water, food, clothing, socks. What else we/they need?
Jump down?
Are these rocks ready to fall on us?
Just no earthquake today please.
This is a nice slot.
It is fairly long.
Weather was good. Mostly cloudy not cold. Time for some beer.
