Carrizo Mtn 1/17/2022
The gate to the Painted Gorge is closed so John can’t drive any further.
So we are walking.
Colorful walls, this one is spilling colors.
High walls.
We are at the end of the canyon.
John and Chuck are looking for their geocache that must be someplace next to the rock.
Getting out of the canyon is fun.
Back on the rocky road.
Not easy to drive or walk here.
Suicide switchbacks.
Looking down. Not too hospitable.
Made it up.
It is time for a lunch.
Badlands.
And time to relax (like fakirs do) on sharp rocks.
These BM markers are about 1m apart. Unusual.
Our group here. Since Susan Mc. did not show up we have another Susan here instead. John stayed low.
Susan S. is also lot of fun.
Meet with John.
Painted Gorge from above.
Selfie.
Canyon walls.
Scenic but would not want to be lost here.
Every bend is different.
Lot of layers.
We are back.
Since John A. and Susan S. parked on drivable road they went ahead to their car and are not in this group pic.
Oh no! There is a bee in my beer.
