Peak 1401 12/26/2022
Our Subaru could not make this drop so we are waiting for John to come back for us.
Peak 1401 is where we are planning to go.
For now I am gingerly exploring the earthquake equipment nearby.
Gps and seismographic data gathering.
Made it to the trailhead. John and Wit will look for some geocaches.
We are going for that distant ridge.
Somehow these flowers think that it is Spring in December.
Heading for that canyon on right.
No boulders here.
It is steep with boulders.
Hersch made it to our shady resting place. He will return eventually.
Our hike is changing even into a steeper one.
Than it changes into a climb with loose rocks and no hand holders.
Made it up but it is still several ups and downs.
Cactus with a view.
We are on top.
There is a register that nobody goes to but us.
Our group here.
Boulders everywhere.
This is a live one.
Will leave it here.
The big gun. Will not touch this one.
Decided to drop down to the north side.
Made it down.
John saves us and drives us the last two miles back to our car.
Our randezvous point where John and his group are already waiting for us.
We need a complete group picture.
John’s leaving towards Plaster City.
