Davies Valley Balloon 1/7/2023
No rain no wind it is sunny. We have six cars at the trailhead.
Wit is leaving us to bypass dry waterfalls. Where is Rob? We don’t know.
The first fall. How are we going to get over it?
Fortunately we know how.
It is easy.
One done. This one is even more fun.
It is a stairmaster.
Almost up.
Hersch is on alternate way up.
Out of the canyon.
Alan is on a ridge going to the top where we usually go.
We are continuing instead on our mission to find crashed weather balloon.
The GPS location points somewhere around here.
Chuck found it. Let’s go see it.
Here it is. Hiding.
Where is the balloon? Somewhere down?
Found it.
It is all shredded. Is it Chinese?
Balloon chaser Kerry and Chuck.
Guts of the radiosonde.
Our lunch place.
Looking for Alan. He is running down there on the road.
Our balloon group.
Way down is sometime steep.
It is fine.
Dry lake is green now.
All together.
Interesting rocks.
Got into the slot canyon.
Rocks from sides are ready to fall.
Soaking the sun.
Our group picture with Rob. Susan just left.
