Domelands Canyons 3/13/2023
Are we ready to hike? Not yet some dog ‘Scout” shows up but he is not going with us.
The boring part of the hike is on this road.
We are going down there somewhere.
Little side trip.
There is a big canyon below.
Some nice flowers.
It will start to get interesting so Wit will meet us later.
Fun part.
Since everybody ran ahead it is only Kerry and Me for our group picture at famous wedge rock.
On into other canyons.
This one is even taller.
Some minor obstacles.
So far no problems.
Will these walls fall down?
Holes in side.
Looks like ancient castle wall.
Canyon changes again.
Some sparkly veins in rocks.
Practice climbs.
Got to the big waterfall. It looks different now there is sand everywhere.
All the hand and foot holds are plugged and slippery with sand, which makes it difficult. Alan goes first and makes it up.
Malcolm tries and keeps slipping.
I made it, than Hersch climbs up with rope help. Rest of the group will retrace.
Our late lunch place where we meet with Wit.
On the easy way now.
It is getting warm.
Made it back and waiting for the other half. Fortunately Alan has beer with him to share.
All together. Exciting hike.
