Lost Valley Loop 4/14/2025
Our group picture while we are all together.
On a way to the Big Rock.
There is a trail.
Lot of interesting rocks around.
Still on a trail.
Almost there?
Somebody just climbed up to the top.
John is leaving us here to look for some fallen weather balloon.
We are continuing down.
Regrouping, waiting for Hersch. Where is he? We may find him later?!.
The gate is open, let’s go in.
Ooops just heard long long sonic boom. It was an earthquake in Julian. And it shook Alec’s stomach.
Going on, nothing will fall on us here.
There is a big black rattling snake there! That is even scarier than earthquake.
Not that many flowers this year so this one is nice.
Easy way up.
It is getting harder.
Climbing up to pk 4000.
Made it.
There is that Big Rock.
Lunch is over, time for another group picture.
Off we go.
Going down.
It is mostly slow going.
There is our next destination, big rock cave.
H K in the sand. Hersch was here!
To get to the cave we have to go around it.
Entrance.
Exit from the other side.
Nice shade inside.
It is much bigger than camera can show.
Our group here.
We are all back.
John found the weather balloon remains.
