B
It would be easy to do Bs for Beer or Brewery instead my hikes are to look for:
Bells in Prague
Here is a one from my favorite pub/brewery.
Small one in front of a house.
Ring this one and they may let you in.
Bell tower that was moved from eastern Czechoslovakia now part of Ukraine.
The bell is not being used.
These bells work.
They play music every hour.
In WW2 Germans confiscated 9,801 church and city bells to to support the war.
Now 80 years later a new bell was born with name #9801, it represents those destroyed.
#9801 weights 9801 kg.
I can touch it!
This church is also recovering from lost bells.
They got a new one, ready to be installed? Or are they waiting since it may be shipped to Ukraine?
Church lost it already twice. In WW1 and again in WW2.
Climbing another tower to look for bells. Note that stairs are clockwise as usual so that defending troops have right hand advantage.
Here it is. Where are the other three bells that used to be here?
Only the smallest one survived. Others were lost in war.
Cemetery church bells.
Climbed hundreds of stairs to look for bells.
Bell that has it's heart missing for about 200 years.
So there is an elaborate ringing contraption installed.
With a hammer.
Every climb has its rewards.
This is the biggest bell in Czech in St. Vit's catedral from 1549. Each bell has name. His name is Zikmund.
Bell needs big support since it weights about 13,500 kg.
Above are more bells that are used daily.
Looking down.
Bells with hearts so they can be rang manually.
Above the Astronomical clock there is a bell.
So when the clock is in motion this death knell rings.
It is rang by the Death. Whom the bell tolls? Death holds your clock!
